Structural Engineer
About the Role
An exciting opportunity for a skilled Structural Engineer to play a pivotal role in the design and analysis of photovoltaic (PV) mounting systems, with a focus on cold-formed steel structures. You’ll work cross-functionally with design, R&D, and engineering teams to create efficient, durable, and certifiable solar mounting solutions for utility-scale projects. This role is ideal for someone passionate about innovation in clean energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze PV mounting structures using cold-formed steel and roll-form profiles.
- Evaluate loads including wind, snow, seismic, and dynamic conditions.
- Ensure compliance with Eurocode 3 and relevant PV-specific standards.
- Build structural models in SCIA Engineer and DLUBAL RFEM/RSTAB.
- Perform parametric studies and design optimizations for cost and performance.
- Collaborate with product design and R&D to support new product development.
- Ensure engineering deliverables meet QA standards and EN 1090 certification.
- Produce high-quality documentation, reports, and calculation packages
Required Skills & Qualifications
✔️ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
✔️ Extensive experience in structural steel design (esp. cold-formed / roll-form profiles)
✔️ Proficiency in SCIA Engineer and working knowledge of DLUBAL RFEM/RSTAB
✔️ Deep understanding of Eurocode 3 and structural mechanics
✔️ Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills
✔️ Highly detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities
✔️ Fluent in English; German is a plus
